Big Catch Team – 9th October 2016

  img_0185 img_0214

On Sunday Team Big Catch headed to the deep for some offshore fishing and tackle testing. The day started with some yellowtail fishing on bait and light tackle spinning gear. Although weather conditions were good the yellowfin tuna were few and far between but never the less perseverance and experience paid off  and later in the day we connected with some Yellowfin Tuna. Every one had a great time and we  are looking forward to the next trip out.  For tips and advice on tuna fishing pop into Big Catch and speak to the team.

On Saturday 8th October we were joined by Johannes and his family.

The day started out tough due to wind. We managed to hook up on a Yellowfin Tuna and after a 35 min fight Johannes landed his personal best fish.

Matt joined us on Tuesday accompanied by his family. We had some success hooking Matt up with the fight of his life. We cut the day short, heading back to shore early, but still a successful day in the deep.

First Tuna Charter For The Season

img_0059 img_0072

We set out for our first Offshore Tuna charter for the season on Monday morning. We started out in the South, but because of rough waters we changed direction. With some  Longfin and Yellowfin Tuna being caught for the day, the clients were pleased with everyone catching their personal best. What a fun start to this season.

Ocean Safari

Fun day fishing with Glenn and family.

We headed down to Cape point for some light tackle inshore fishing. On our way down we came across a huge pod of dolphin which were feeding on bait. We slowed down and followed the dolphins for about 15min while the clients enjoyed them swimming in our bow wave. We hooked up on some katonkel at the point and while heading back to Groendam  we saw a humpback whale jumping and slapping his tail on the surface. While we were all distracted by the whale one rod went screaming off on with a yellowtail. Great fun was had by all.
