Our Cape Town born Skipper, David, has always had a great love and respect for the sea. He is skilled in all facets of fishing from conventional tackle to fly fishing and from light to heavy tackle. David is a University of Cape Town Honours graduate in Marine Biology. While at University he was chairman of the Angling Club for three consecutive years. It is here that he started teaching fellow students the art of learning how to cast a fly line. Since then he has guided many people into becoming competent fly fishers.

An excellent fly-tyer, David has supplied popular fishing tackle stores with his creations for many years. Today David ties exclusively for Two Oceans Sport Fishing. If you’re a serious saltwater flyfisher, try and get your hands on some of his patterns these flies catch fish!

David is an International Game Fishing Association Certified Skipper and is experienced with local conditions having grown up on the Cape waters. Many clients will agree - David has an unreal ability to find tuna- its almost like a six sense, some even go as far as to say he can smell the fish…. Two Oceans Sport Fishing Charters has earned the reputation of being one of the top charter operations in Cape Town. This is as a result of our impeccable catch record, professional service and passion for fishing. Over the past tuna season we produced a 100 percent success rate on all of our tuna fishing charters! We successfully landed 7 yellowfin weighing in at over 105 kgs and even landed 8 yellowfin tuna between 40 and 76 kgs on fly fishing tackle! We have also landed the first yellowfin tuna of the October/November season this year in September, a record we can proudly say to have held over the past three years!

Our new boat, Obsession, is a 9m twin hulled sport fisher, custom built for our local fishing conditions. Obsession is fully equipped with the latest electronics and best quality Penn International and Shimano fishing tackle. She is powered by quiet and clean twin 200 Hp four stroke outboards, so there are no diesel or two stroke fumes. Obsession comfortably cruises at 28 knots. Under calm conditions she can reach 40 knots and will get you out to the tuna grounds fast. Licensed for 14 people and with a full walk around cabin, Obsession boasts 360 degree fishability.
